If vote returns hold in the primary election for spots on the Colville Business Council, all six incumbents will move on to the general election in June, according to certified poll results from the Colville Tribes' tribal elections office.
Only ballots cast at the four polling locations have been counted. Absentee ballots, which could change the order of candidates, will be certified May 8.
The top two candidates for each position will move to the general election June 14. Winning candidates will take the oath of office during the Colville Business Council meeting July 10.
In the Omak District, position No. 1 incumbent and business council chair Mike Marchand is in second place behind Carleen Anderson, 109-99, after poll voting.
Others seekin the position are Bryon Miller, 55; Susan Edwards-Best, 46, and Dwayne Paul, 24.
In the race for Omak's second seat, challenger Ernie Williams has a 40-vote lead over incumbent Ted Bessette, 95-52, after poll votes, but all of the other candidates are at their heels.
Other candidates include Cody Miller, 47; James McCuen, 40; Cary Tonasket, 37; Melanie Torrence, 34, and Shirley Charley, 28.
In the Nespelem District, incumbent Brian Nissen is one vote behind Harvey Moses Jr., 53-52. D'Arcy L-Tix Tatshama is in third place with 32 votes, followed by Sophie Dick-Nomee, 27; Sheilah Cleveland, 26 votes; David Clark Sr., 18, and Brian Timentwa, 16.
Gene Joseph, the incumbent in Nespelem's second seat, received 101 votes and is ahead of challengers Charlene BearCub, 70 votes; Preston Boyd, 28, and Eldon Wilson, 25.
In the Keller District, Lee Adolph is in first place over incumbent Jeanne Jerred. Adolph received 28 votes to Jerred's 22 and Billie Jo Bray's 19.
