PATEROS - A 22-year-old California man suffered possible head and neck injuries when his car left U.S. Highway 97 on June 27 in Pateros.
     Daniel L. Wethern, Livermore, Calif., was northbound when the State Patrol said he fell asleep around 2:55 a.m.
     His car left the road to the left, glanced off the southbound railing, crossed the highway and struck the northbound railing head-on.
     Wethern was wearing a restraint.
     The car was destroyed.
