TWISP - The annual Fourth of July parade and kickoff for the Twisp centennial get going at 11 a.m. on Glover Street.
The parade will be followed by the Methow Arts Fest in Twisp River Park.
The fest carries a $5 admission and runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each child will get five free booth tickets, organizers with Methow Arts said.
A dozen art booths offer opportunities to make wings and bug eyes, tie dyed T-shirts, wooden boats, birthday cupcakes, bubble wands and more, organizers said.
"Everyone is invited to make a wish for the next 100 years of Twisp on flags that will be strung up for the duration of the centennial celebrations, or pop out of the giant birthday cake," the announcement said.
Entertainers include the Jake Shaw Trio, Groundown, Secondary Funktion and the Bubbleman.
A barbecue features local burgers and hot dogs, and sandwiches and salads from Local 98856, iced coffee, frozen pops and other treats.
A grant from the Methow Community Fund also provides free tickets, which are available at the Cove Food Bank, Room One and the Methow Valley Senior Center.
