OKANOGAN - Open auditions for the sixth annual Washington State Nashville Country Star will Sunday, Feb. 14, at Okanogan High School and Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Van Tassel Center at Wenatchee Valley College.
Auditions are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in both locations.
The annual vocal competition is open to all high school students attending any high school in the state. There are three categories: Country; ‘50s and ‘60s rock and roll, and gospel.
Two additional qualifying rounds will be held, with the final at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in the Omak Performing Arts Center.
The top 10 finalists will win cash prizes and the winner will receive $1,500.
“We encourage all high school students that have a desire to sing or perform in public to audition. No prior experience is necessary,” organizer Ed Lisenbey said.
